My latest project, cramming 2 good sized walk in closets full of clothes from my old condo into one noticeably smaller sized walk in closet (and remember this is the ONE and ONLY closet in the entire apartment). This has truly been the hardest thing for me to accomplish.
At the moment, I still have one more wardrobe box of clothing at my boyfriend's house along with the majority of my shoes, and sweaters, and jeans, and did I mention, coats??? I have NOWHERE to put these things, The clothes I do have at my apartment are stacked in small organizers stored on the floor of the closet and on the upper shelf of the closet. I've gotten rid of a lot of clothes but know that more cuts are on the horizon.
All that can be hung -- have been hung.
So what now?
Heck if I know. Do you?
In the interest of finding some solution, I did find this tip, which I plan to try.
I'm pretty sure I've heard it before and didn't really pay much attention, but now that I struggling to condense the 2 closets into one, well...I'm listening more!
I thought it would be worth sharing.
Organize by color (not item or season), and then within each color group hang like items together -- skirts, pants, tops, etc. This makes getting dressed faster [and] easier.
This won't get all the clothes put away but it just might make the ones I have easier to get to (and make me feel like I'm doing something meaningful toward solving the problem).
Oh - if I ever get it together, I'll be sure to post a picture.
