The Bachelor Review- Season 15 - Episode One

Let me start by saying that my friend Cindy has reminded me repeatedly that this show is ‘scripted”. To that - I say - as always “who cares?” I guess you have to ask yourself, why you watch the show. I watch it to lose myself in the fantasy of girl meets boy and the possibility of finding true love. For the 2 hrs the show is on I transport myself back to those days in my twenties, when everything was still ahead of me. I mean anyone with half a brain knows that all of the Bachelor and The Bachelorette shows are pretty much fairy tales. We get it! (as Brad said way too many times last night) We all know deep down inside that this is just a stepping stone to Hollywood for many of the contestants but it is sooo much fun watching it anyway and It’s so much more fun to watch it if you can pretend that this one - just might be for real.

So I challenge you Cindy, to sit back and really enjoy the show this season. Try watching ALL of the gazillion episodes and not utter one single time, the words “it’s scripted” Double dog dare ya!!! If you can do it, I owe you a cucumber margarita @ Straits.
Whatdayasay??

Now, on with my review.

I think ABC has the magic touch with this show and after 15 seasons of failed match ups we are back in front of the TV to watch Brad Womack make a second attempt at finding true love. Who knew?

So, if I can pretend for just a minute, that I don’t see the scripted portions, I will say this – I thought Brad was looking pretty hot. I also think that he really has done some work on himself.  We didn’t see him out seeking the limelight since he last appeared in 2007. He wasn’t on Dancing With the Stars.  So, maybe he really is  “doing it for all the right reasons”  Anyway, I like him a heck of a lot better than Jake!

I didn’t care for that opening slap ABC. I thought it was cheesy. If I were Brad I would have gotten rid of that girl in the first rose ceremony. So you know it was "pre-arranged" (a kinder gentler term for "scripted"). I also was not fond of Keltie (the Radio City Rockette). Hope he kicks her to the curb soon.

My favorites were, the 2 Ashley’s, Emily and Sarah P. You'll have to look up their photos yourself.

Gee...I hope they made the cut. It's really hard to remember with 30 women. Watching him give out 19 roses was a snooze-fest.
But like millions of you, I'll be back in front of the telly next Monday night.
See ya back here after the show.

Yay Devon for blogging about my favorite reality show!!
Hmm cucumber margaritas.. yes I am up for the challenge. I am going to really attempt to not say "scripted", I am going to sit back and just enjoy the drama surrounding our cute, remorseful bachelor. My favorite so far is Ashley (the one that got the first impression rose). Can't wait to watch next week and most definitely looking forward to reading your recaps : )
