but for anyone who just happens upon this, I want to say
"WELCOME NEW FRIENDS"
I probably should be commenting on the big, historic Health Care Summit which took place at Blair House on Thursday or the latest round of gold medal winners in the Winter Olympics (everyone is so into curling), but that's not the topic today. You can go anywhere to read about that. I'm going to talk about something much bigger than either of those (at least to me). Instead I'm going to talk about my upcoming trip to Europe. Now, I ask you. Where else can you read about that? It's coming up so fast now. The current plan is that we're going on a 12 day Mediterarrean cruise to celebrate a big birthday for me and the boyfriend (the birthday that comes after 50 - the one with yet another 0 at the end of it).
Our June cruise leaves out of Barcelona but we are flying into Paris a week early to hang out.
I've (we've) never been to Paris. I also recently discovered that I have a cousin who lives there. I have never met her but she is beautiful and has a husband and 2 adorable children. I'll get to meet and hang with them. We got our tickets today so I feel like it's official. And. I am tres excited!
After spending a few days in Paris, we will make our way down the south of France and into Barcelona by train. Then on to the cruise. I plan to shoot photos and blog the entire trip. Yep, you guessed it. I'm going to dump it all onto this site! Of course I won't "dump them", literally speaking. I will place them artfully on the page for your enjoyment. It will be sort of like reporting on the ground from the front lines.
And, yes, I know it's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it.

What a wonderful way to celebrate any birthday but especially for such a special "0" one. :)
I can't wait to live vicariously through your travels.
Please please please post pics as soon as possible.
My mom promised to take my daughter to Paris is she (my daughter) learns enough conversational French by ??? (LOL)
I'll be sharing your blog with my daughter to inspire her to be more diligent with her language studies.
(And speaking of, the BBC has a section on their website where you can learn the language for free. It's http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/.
Congratulations!
