Revoking John Mayer's Hood Pass

So, here we go again.  Another empty apology from yet another clueless celeb. ~what a snoozefest~ Aren't you getting tired of them? I am. Their apologies have ceased to have any real meaning for me. Say or do whatever you want as long as you issue a prompt apology. Is John Mayer the white Kanye West?

John Mayer's recent Playboy interview was a train wreck. Not sure why he would want to commit social suicide by making such insensitive and tasteless remarks. He was sort of cool and jazzy and I liked his music but now he just seems drunk on his own success. I'm not so much bothered by the fact that he isn't sexually attracted to black women (TMI - but we all have our preferences).  What I am more offended by is the fact that he was so arrogant and so full of himself that he thought it would be "edgy" to compare any part of himself to a white supremacist and use the "N" word in the same breath.

Here's the thing. I think it's time to understand that NO white person really has a "hood pass." None! The "N" word is a racial slur. PERIOD! Using the word and then feigning ignorance and innocence later is no excuse. Do not under estimate the power of the word. It's especially disturbing to me coming from John "Waiting on the World to Change" Mayer.

Oh, and NO woman, black, white or other wants a man who plays kiss and tell. John, Puhleez!
