President O announced the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell in his State of the Union address last week but......the change won't go into effect for a year. Gen Colin Powell supports the decision but my fave-o-rite flip flopping Senator, John "Country First" McCain, is opposed to it. Once again Senator McCain demonstrates that he supports decisions that agree with his....until they don't. Tsh Tsh Shame on you Johnny boy.  John McCain should change his slogan from "Country First" to "Me First"

While I whole heartedly support the decision to overturn this archaic policy, I can't for the life of me figure out why it should take an entire year  - 12 months - 365 days - to abolish it. Supposedly it has to do with the time it will take to study whether the repeal will have any negative effects on the armed forces and to determine the best way to implement the change. Of course studies have already shown that three quarters of military personnel say that they are comfortable around gays and lesbians. Two thirds say they already suspect gay people in their units.

So there you have it!   NOTHING   will   change   in the day to day operations of the armed services. To make matters worse this could all go bye-bye with the stroke of a pen. President O could extend existing benefits to same sex partners as well as immediately end the DADT discharges. These patriotic Americans are serving in the U S military. They are fighting and dying for our freedom EVERYday.It has already been too long.

They   deserve    to    have    equality    NOW!

President O met with the Senate Democratic Caucus today for a Q&A session much like the one he had last week with "the party of NO new ideas".
If you recall, during the meeting last week The Fox Cartoon Network cut away from the session before it was over because, to put it bluntly, they were getting a royal ASS KICKING! So in the same spirit of Fair & Balanced reporting, Fox decided not to cover today's event, AT ALL, and tend to other matters instead. Take that President Obama!
