Mediterranean - Day 7 Mykonos, Greece

Welcome to Mykonos Greece

We were ready to get off the boat by Wednesday. Our 1st stop in Greece was Mykonos. Mykonos, with its picturesque beaches, cobblestone streets and painted villages is a big tourist destination and one of the most inviting places in Greece. It is famous for its cosmopolitan character and intense nightlife.

We had a tour arranged to Delos island.  After boarding a tender from the ship to Mykonos, we then took another boat to the island of Delos. Delos is the birthplace of Apollo and dates back some 5,000 years. Can you imagine? The ancient ruins found there make Delos one of the most significant archeological sites in the world.

No, it's not Dora the Explorer!

we managed to somehow get separated from our tour group

After our tour, we met up with some other onboard friends from AZ. We had a snack at one of the quaint sidewalk cafes and then walked the streets of Little Venice and shopped at the cute little boutiques which line the cobblestone streets. I found the people to be friendly and the prices reasonable.

My new friends the ""shop keepers

and my new Celebrity shopping buds

Mykonos is truly a beautiful place and one which I would love to visit again.

Greece in your eyes is everything I imagined it to be! Beautiful blue skies and water with white washed geometric housing hugging the shore--cobblestone streets winding through narrow alleyways--other worldly!! That's a place to find a chaise in the shade and enjoy!
