Boomer Retirement - The top 10 places in the US

I've been posting about retirement abroad but I know a lot of people who have no intention of retiring abroad and they think I'm nuts for even considering the idea.

What’s driving people abroad? Money — or lack of it. Americans’ confidence in their ability to afford a comfortable retirement is at historically low levels.  Less than 15% of workers say they are “very confident” that they will have enough money to retire comfortably.
Even so, a huge majority of people will end up retiring in the states and some locations are better than others.

Looking at what makes a city attractive to part-time residents and to today’s active retiree who wants to live in a place where the weather is nice.

Meeting the climate requirement,
The top five locations all fall in Arizona, Texas or Nevada with Las Vegas, Scottsdale (AZ), San Antonio and Phoenix following Austin at the top of the list.
Rounding out the top-10 were Dallas, Jacksonville (FL), Plano (TX), Overland Park (KS), and Mesa (AZ).
Rents in Austin, TX average about $1,204/mo
