Can you ever go home again? The Detroit story

Although I was born in Kansas, I spent the first 6 years of my life in Detroit, Michigan. After I moved away, I spent just about every summer there until I was in college.  I have very fond memories of Detroit, back in the day. It saddens me greatly, to see it in its present state.

We need to CARE about ALL of our cities!

On Thursday motorists took to the streets in protest, conducting a the slow-moving caravan, on one of the city's expressways ( I-75 near I-94) during rush hour.

Stephen Boyle of the group FREE Detroit-NO Consent said, "We basically decided, if [the state was] not going to listen to the public, the public was going to slow down traffic, If we slow down traffic, maybe people will stop and listen for a moment, as to what's going on. This isn't business as usual."
"Government is elected by the public to serve the public, it's not elected to serve its own interests, he said. "The state wants to take the city's assets and make them its own -- privatization of our school system, lighting, water... everything we have, including our parks."
