What a difference a rug makes!

Movin along with the new place.

It has been a little over a month since I moved to my new "simpler, smaller" apt. Decorating it has been quite a challenge. Not that I didn't have enough "stuff" or anything (cause I certainly did), but, I didn't have the right kind of "stuff" for this new place.

Here's what I've done so far
I've decided not to put any window coverings on the windows. I went back and forth on the decision but I want to keep the look more loft like with a modern twist so I nixed the curtains.

Put most of the pictures up on the gallery wall

Mostly finished the kitchen

Bathroom done. Check!

I was going to leave the floors completely bare. One reason again was for the loft effect and to make the space look bigger. It was a hard choice but after a month of listening to little Yorkie nails clicking on the laminate, and....watching them slide across the floor, I decided it was time for a rug.

I have never purchased a rug for a space this size before. I was in a total quandary about which one to choose. The rugs look really different and really big when they are hanging at the store. After 2 or 3 trips to store to look (the store had a 48 hour return policy which made me feel a bit more comfortable knowing I was not going to be stuck with a bad choice) I decided on the rug below and fortunately did not have to return my 1st choice. It has made a HUGE difference in the look and feel of the room (and Lily & Lola like too. No More leaping from furniture piece to furniture piece like little mountain lions)

Here were the choices based on color, size and PRICE (Yikes!)
