I found an apartment!!! It actually only took me one week, however I had to wait another whole week before my application was approved. What in the world were they checking? I'll never know but I think they must have been checking for FBI clearance, which by the way, I can pass!! Anyway after the long wait, I was finally handed the keys this past Saturday.
So, this past weekend, I was in heaven, since I love to decorate. I bought a new platform bed and selected paint colors for accent walls. The painting will be done today.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with my new home and a wee bit sad about leaving my old home. The new apt is described as "loft-inspired" meaning its pretty much an open floor plan (altho there is a separate bedroom). I'm doing the happy dance because I'm gaining back a bathtub (my old place only had a shower) I
really missed taking those long baths. The building has excellent security, the view is pretty good and the place is mega sunny! I've got high ceilings and 2 big floor to ceiling windows with a "city" view.
The negatives are: it's 1/2 the size of the apt I have now, no stainless steel appliances or black granite counter tops, no extra 1/2 bath and only
1closet! Yep, you heard me right.
O N E CLOSET!!!
So....I will have to meet "simplify" head on.

Congratulations on finding your new place! Nevermind the closet because you can always buy a new one. What matters most is that you found a great apartment to come home to with things you like and need. It's all that matters after all.
