I follow a blog called Advanced Style where they feature photographs of older women (of various ages usually 70's - 90's) looking very stylish. Yesterday they featured a beautifully stylish lady, but did not reveal her age. I was curious, so I set out to uncover the mystery. After I found out, I thought it might be interesting to see if any of YOU could correctly guess her age.
How did you come up with the age you chose? What did you base your conclusion on?
Let's play a little game of "age detective” and look at some of the subtle signs that reveal a woman’s age. You can use these visual clues to guess how old our model is — then try some of these tips yourself and see if you can keep em guessing about your age!
(Men you're off the hook on this one but I'll circle back later for a similar age contest for you)
Here's the list
1- Eyes
Are the eyebrows thin or almost missing?
age-related drop in hormones and years of tweezing can slow hair growth
To get a younger look - Color in those brows and for better looking Lashes - switch from lenthening to a thickening mascara
2 - Mouth
What happened to that smile?
Over time your teeth may become worn down from friction, the enamel erodes with time and your smile may begin to yellow.
Brighten up those teeth with bleaching administered through your dentist or over ttry an over the counter method.
For lips use a lip primer. Brighter or lighter colors make your smile more youthful.
3- Neck
Wrinkles on the neck due to paper-thin neck skin
Choices would be a facelift or makeup foundation to conceal and/or try applying lots of rich moisturizer to the skin to "plump it up"
You can also hide the neck with clothing such as turtlenecks or let your hair grow a little longer so that it sweeps the neck.
4- Ears
Saggy, wobbly ear lobes.
Yes wearing those heavy earrings for years can take a toll on your earlobes
What you can do - go with a hairstyle that covers the ears and give up the heavy earrings in favor of lighter drop earrings or small stones
5- Breasts
Boobs going south?
Lots of reasons, hormonal changes and weight changes as we age along with gravity will pull the tissue downward.
Make sure your bra fits correctly. Have a bra fitting if you have not done so. It can make a world of difference
6- Hands
Wrinkles and spiney looking veins on your hands
The backs of your hands are one of the few places on your body where you actually lose fat with age (Muscle tissue also disappears, and skin thins, showing off the tendons, veins, and knuckles underneath).
After putting on her anti-aging face cream at night, rub what's left on the back of your hands

Don’t forget the sunscreen.
Also - Watch your jewelry. If your hands are showing signs of aging don't draw attention to them with big flashy rings. Opt instead for arm candy like stacks of bracelets
7- Elbows
Rough, dry elbows
Use exfoliating scrubs to smooth the skin and try wearing 3/4 length sleeves
8- Knees
Saggy knees
You can use the same treatment for your knees as yo do fo ryour elbows. In addition start some leg exercises and adjustr your wardrobe. Avoid shorts and dresses/skirts that hit above the knee.
9- Feet
After years of carrying you around your feet can start to show signs of wear and tear. You may begin to see cracking and calluses.
Be good to your feet. Wear comfortable well fitting shoes. Time to stop squeezing those toes into the narrow high heels. Also as feet tend to spread with age make sure you are wearing a comfortable shoe with the correct width.
10- Dress
“Don’t dress like your grandma” – although I’m sure she’s fabulous, get with an age appropriate style that will make you look like the smart successful “with-it” woman you are
Her age is ...
Our model, Linda Rodin, is 63 and damn proud of it. She is a former model and NYC-based stylist, who is currently stirring up major buzz thanks to her eponymous line of skin-care potions and cosmetics RODIN olio lusso (Italian for luxury oil). I'm actually thinking of trying some of her products.
Here's an interesting video where Linda talks about her life and how she got her start with her cosmetics line
