The Bachelor Review- Season 15 - Episode Eight

Hometown Date Night

Off to Seattle to check out Chantal's family. She has a dog and 2 cats and lives only 4 blocks from her parents. This will be a big test for Brad. They sit together on the sofa and have a beer with the dog, who doesn't bark or try to maul Brad, so he's off to a very good start.

Later they pop over to meet the folks. (and what a lovely home they have too) Looks like her family has some dough. (and that's never a bad thing) Brad was a bit worried at first but after having a serious "man-talk" with Chantal's father, it turns out they have a lot in common.  Self made men and all! (pounding chest)

I like this match up.

Next he visits Ashley H (guess we could drop the H now huh?) She lives so far north that she is almost out of the country - Madawaska Maine - It is quite evident how far north it is when Ashley introduces him to a new dish common in that part of the world. I think it was called "putzin" and means: fries, cheese and gravy - Yummy?

Ashley has a pretty wild family - with no shortage on laughter. At dinner everyone has an entire "big ole lobster" on their plate. Brad loves the life and says he could see himself living there.

On to Chico to visit Shawntel N at her favorite place...The Chico Memorial Mausoleum.  She really was right at home and had an absolutely wonderful time showing Brad all the tricks of the trade. (and did you see how ABC even sneaked in a commercial for their family funeral home?) I don't think Brad was really into it though, even if he did pretend to be impressed. It was pretty creepy. I think that's when Ashley ceased to be in the running.

But- not so fast-let's not forget Emily. Brad jets off to Charlotte and  finally gets to meet Ricki. She was rather cool in the beginning but warmed up to him later. Emily takes Brad over to her very nice home and they have a quiet little chat on the sofa. (No parents in the picture though - hmmm wonder what's up there?)

The only mistake Brad made on this date was being too much of a Mr Nice guy. Emily was looking for a little kiss action and Brad was not giving any out that night. He's such a gentleman.  He thought it was a little disrespectful for him to be kissin the mama while the baby was sleeping upstairs. Emily didn't really like it much, but...what's a girl gonna do?

At the final rose ceremony - No rose for Shawntel N (are you really surprised? If you are, you  weren't reading this post - no skimming!)

See ya next week as the 3 finalist jet off to South Africa!!
