My advice.....Skip this stop port altogether!!!
This is what I saw when I woke up this morning and we were pulling into dock.
Sunrise over Livorno
A far cry from the scenery of yesterday
Everyone has a boat or scooter to get around. I think I saw gas prices at about 13.20 euros
In town
Needless to say, I bought nothing in town
Dirty canal
Highlight was a bride riding in on a scooter and the fake rose petals left behind on the church steps
We came back to the ship and had a drink and some very good conversation by the pool with a couple from Phoenix. The pool area was packed. You know why??? NOBODY was in Livorno.
See ya tomorrow from Rome

So you were "livid" from livorno", at least you were able to enjoy the pool. Lol about the picture of your shopping choices.
The area outside of the city is supposed to be the attraction-- the villas in the hillsides, etc. So if you had gone to Pisa, you would have seen what it is famous for. Also it is famous for was providing safe harbor for Jews when they were thrown out of Spain. But the majority of the Jewish population left when Napoleon invaded and they sided with him. When he left town, they did too.
Yes, I know. My point is Livorno was not something worth seeing and the cruise line listed that there were shops there. There weren't. I didn't want to see Pisa. Florence was too far to go without the tour, we may have not been able to make it back to the ship in time. On these cruises some of us cannot afford to buy excursions for all the ports. This one was a dump! :)
