Here's a little background if you don't know her story.
On August 16, 2008, Stephanie Aurora Clark Nielson (NieNie) and her husband Christian took off from St John's AZ in a red and white Cessna 177 with their flight instructor, Doug Kinneard. They were headed back to Mesa after a day of flying practice (Christian was a new pilot). NieNie left pizza dough rising on the counter for dinner that night and they departed for what they thought, would be a routine flight. They stopped to refuel in St Johns. Upon takeoff, the engines stopped and their light plane struck a power line as it plummeted to the ground. Stephanie and Christian have 4 children who often accompanied them on their flights but fortunately were not along for this flight.NieNie was burned over 83% of her body, Christian over 30% and the pilot, Doug, suffered fatal injuries and died within 24 hours.
NieNie was in a coma for nearly 3 months.
NieNie and Christian are devout Mormons and NieNie has found new purpose in her life as she faces the challenges of recovery. Please view her heartwarming new video
Christian filled in as the writer on NieNie's blog when she was unable to blog for herself (a task he continues to this day, when needed. He is a thoughtful writer). He tells the whole story in his own words but I can't seem to locate it so you can search her blog yourself or I offer you this link instead NieNie's Story
